General Fitness

General fitness is not just about your appearance. It is concerned with your whole lifestyle, resulting in a healthy well being. This can be achieved through regular exercise and a healthy diet.

Today along with cancer, coronary heart disease (CHD) is the biggest killer in the western world, and one of the major causes of CHD is obesity which is in turn caused by inactivity and poor diets.

The Allied Dunbar national fitness survey (1992) and the HEA national survey of activity and health (1995) indicates that among adults aged 16 – 74 years in England, the majority are below physical activity thresholds for health. The current government guidelines for gaining health benefits through exercise or regular physical activity is five 30 minute sessions of moderate intensity exercise per week.

I will work with you in designing and implementing an exercise and diet programme that is specific to you. I will take into account your goals, current condition, schedule, likes and dislikes, to create a programme that will enhance your lifestyle, resulting in a stronger, fitter, and smarter way of life.

I will use a combination of aerobic exercise such as walking, jogging, and cycling, to improve your cardiovascular fitness, burn fat and increase your metabolism; and resistance training such as free weights and bands to improve strength, muscle tone and further boost metabolism through lean muscle improvements.
